Chakras and Crystals
What are chakras?
Chakras are the junction points where the nadis intersect. Nadis are subtle energy channels. There are 72,000 nadis and 112 chakras where these nadis intersect. Out of these 112 chakras, 108 reside within the body. There are 7 major chakras that run along the spine, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head; muladhara, svadisthana, manipura, anahata, ajna and sahaswara.
Each of the 7 major chakras are of a different color light as well as sound frequency. All things that exist carry a particular sound frequency, all matter and light is energy vibration and where there is vibration there is sound. We are only able to perceive a limited range of sound frequency and there is much our ears cannot hear or that our eyes perceive. Color is also another form of energy with certain vibrations and frequencies. Both color and sound effect these energy centers and can harmonize and bring them into balance when they become distorted or disharmonized.
Using crystals to balance chakras
Crystals & gemstones are excellent for bringing our chakras into the correct harmonic frequency and vibration. They work by virtue of their vibration & frequency which varies according to color, size, chemistry and molecular arrangement. We are easily influenced by these crystalline energies and move into resonance with them when they are within our energy field. They can be placed on the body on the chakra points while laying down in a relaxing atmosphere. You want to lay there with the stone(s) for at least 30 minutes. They can be kept in a pocket or bra and worn as jewelry or taken as gem essences. In general it is best to wear the stone as close to the chakra you are trying to work on. As for rings, each finger corresponds with a particular chakra:
Pinky finger-muladhara, ring finger-svadisthana, middle finger-manipura, pointer finger-anahata and thumb-vishuddha.
Common crystals for the 7 chakras:
